Come along to the Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food and Culture where you can titillate your tastebuds, indulge you inner gourmet or just stuff you face. Over 60 events take place from the 17th August - 17th September 2009 throughout Pennine Lancashire with ten special events taking place in Burnley from Tea at t' Mill to a Beach Party in the Park - take a look at the events guide for more information.
A wide selection of restaurants and café’s provide a cosmopolitan choice of tempting meals from Indian, Chinese and Thai to Italian French and British. You may prefer Lancashire Hot Pot to Tandoori Chicken, or Boeuf Bourguignon to Spaghetti Carbonara whatever you feel like eating you can find somewhere in Burnley and Padiham to tempt you.
A variety of cosy cafés, traditional pubs, bistros and restaurants can be found all around the area serving meals from breakfast to supper, as well as delicatessens, sandwich bars and award-winning fish and chip shops.
Moorhouses Brewery has won many accolades over the years for the quality of its beers and a tour around the brewery will not only show you how the beer is made but give you the chance to sample some of these fantastic ales.

Alaska's insanely tough Iditarod dog-sled trail is so tough that even the Eskimo's do not take part - way too scary! Yet the first British woman to compete in (and complete) the Iditarod came from Burnley.
