Tricks of the Trade

Take the chance to go behind the scenes on a tour of this award-winning brewery. Learn about the Science behind the brewing process with a visit to the laboratory on the top floor; smell and taste some of the ingredients that go into the brew, before taking the chance to have a look in the fermentation vats to see the beer bubbling and changing into Moorhouses delicious ales. At this stage it goes into barrels to be sent to the bottling plant and distributed across the country for you to enjoy in your local or at home.

You will  be fascinated with the whole process!

Flavour to Savour

Moorhouses famous brews include Pendle Witch, Blond Witch, Premier Ale and Black Cat; not forgetting several special brews that are produced throughout the year.  All of these can be sampled in the General Scarlett, the brewery’s own tap,  just across the road. Alternatively the new brewery has a bistro which sells delicious meals with a twist, they all have a flavour of the breweries own ales – beef marinated in beer, steak and ale pie, beer battered fish even ice cream with the taste of your favourite tipple.

The new visitor centre has a range of brewery inspired souvenirs and a choice of local produce with a twist including Lancashire Cheese with beer or meats marinated in real ale.

Licenced

Moorhouses don’t only have a licence for selling beers and ales they even have a wedding licence. So couples can get married at a very unusual venue and celebrate with a wedding reception in the brewery’s own bistro – cheers!
