Burnley Youth Theatre was the first purpose built youth theatre in the UK, the stunning  building is located next to Queen’s Park and attracts young people from all around the area who want to be performers, directors or learn about the work that goes on behind the scenes. The youth theatre has a fine reputation for creating dynamic, inspiring and original works in-line with their mission to creatively inspire young people to take their next steps in the arts.

Their shows are open to everyone with an interest in the theatre and vary from contemporary and topical drama to musicals and classical theatre, they also work with adult theatre companies such as Horse and Bamboo and the Contact Theatre .  Most of the shows take place in the theatre itself, but the company also perform around the town, at events and in the landscaped grounds surrounding the theatre.
