Supporting the Clarets - Burnley Football Club fans on match day

Turf Moor has been the home of Burnley Football Club since 1883 when the club was one of the 12 founding members of the football league. Over the years the club has had its ups and down – First Division Champions in 1960, faced relegation from the football league in 1987– today this ambitious Championship Club has its sights firmly set on playing in the Premier League.

Before World War One the crowds at Turf Moor were around 50,000 for every game, which was the equivalent to the town’s population at that time.  But it’s no wonder there is such a fanatical following even today - the club has been champion of all four leagues, won the FA cup and played in Europe – not bad for a small town team.

The trophies and memorabilia from over 125 years of footballing history are on show to fans who can join a behind the scenes tour to see the board room, dressing rooms and take a closer look at the ground and hallowed pitch. Tours are available on Wednesdays, non-match Saturdays and on special occasions throughout the year,  you could well be shown around by one of the Clarets heroes from the past and if you are very lucky you may even meet one of the current crop of star players.

If your dream is to work in the football business then Burnley Football Club is the home of the first University College of Football Business where football club marketing, financial and business managers of the future can learn all about the business of football.
